Coconut chutney is a popular chutney in South India served as a side dish for a lot of Indian snacks and breakfast items such as dosa, idli, pongal or bajji.
Ingredients for Coconut Chutney:
- 160gm grated coconut
- 15 gm roasted gram
- 8 curry leaves
- 5 green chillies, chopped
- 15 gm ginger, chopped
- 5 gm urad dal
- 5 gm mustard seeds
- 15 ml oil
- Salt to taste
Directions for making Coconut Chutney:
- Grind coconut, green chillies, ginger and gram to a paste.
- Saute mustard seeds, lentils and curry leaves.
- Stir in the ground paste, cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Allow to cool, refrigerate and use when required.
